American businesses, especially those in Democrat-run major cities, continue to struggle under the burden of rising rates of shoplifting and other related crimes. This is no surprise, given how lenient on crime many major cities have become.

Retired HPD Captain and law enforcement expert Greg Fremin told KTRH, "Basically, what they've done is they've incentivized criminals to come in and steal. And they've put a dollar amount on it. If you steal under $1,000, then we're just going to write you a ticket."

Fremin says we've already seen some areas in blue cities become food deserts as a result of these policies. He said, "You've got major grocery stores and commercial store chains that are pulling out of places like California because it's not profitable for them to do business there."

Fremin added that these businesses are critical sources of value and opportunity for their communities, and at this rate, they might all be gone soon.
