After stealing Donald Trump's 'No tax on tips' pledge, Kamala Harris rolled out her economic agenda in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Not only did she ignore the fact that the Biden Harris Administration cause inflation, her economic platform is to the left of Biden's.
For instance:
- Her agenda includes the construction of millions of new housing units, tax incentives to build starter homes, and $25,000 in down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers. It would also expand rental assistance for veterans and other eligible Americans. She does not indicate how all of this would be paid for.
- Harris called for on controls on food and grocery prices— setting clear rules of the road to make clear that big corporations can't unfairly exploit consumers to run up excessive corporate profits on food and groceries," the campaign said in a statement. Some are calling this 'Soviet-style' controls.
Former President Donald Trump called out the plan during his press conference in New Jersey on Thursday, saying that, “Kamala's price control proposal is "the Maduro Plan. We call it the Maduro Plan. Something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union. This announcement is an admission that her economic policies have totally failed."
Heritage Foundation economist EJ Antoni told KTRH that, "these proposals demonstrate the incredible extent of the Vice President’s economic illiteracy. Imposing price controls on food will have the same effect as when we imposed price controls on fuel in the 1970s. The gas lines of the past will reappear as the bread lines of tomorrow."
Even Harris’ cheerleaders at CNN said the plan could be disastrous.
