CenterPoint, after botching the response to Hurricane Beryl in July, is now planning a series of 'open houses' to talk to residents about the improvements they plan on making.

The first one takes place on Saturday in Pearland. Between then and September 28th, the energy company is planning a total of sixteen of these events. Five of them will take place in Harris County.

CenterPoint officials were panned for saying they were proud of their response to the storm, despite the fact that people went without power and in extreme heat for more than a week. Officials were hauled up to Austin as part of a Special Senate Committee investigating the company. Attorney General Ken Paxton also announced an investigation.

The energy company was forced into constructing a new outage map, and coming up with a resiliency plan to make sure what happened in July doesn't happen again.
