Kamala's 'honeymoon' may not last long as she hides from press

In most presidential campaigns, it is the norm to have a 'honeymoon' phase for a candidate, especially a newer entry into the race. Since announcing her candidacy on August 2nd, after President Biden announced his intentions to step away from the ticket, Kamala Harris has been sitting in a cloud of positivity. The media, fellow Democrats, all of them have gushed over the Kamala campaign.

A candidates honeymoon usually lasts a couple weeks or so, but Kamala's might be a bit different. She has continued to avoid the press, hiding from answering anyone's questions. She has instead used the same stump speech, verbatim, for all of her campaign events. People have questions, and she refused to answer them. Instead, she is focusing her campaign on abortion rights, which people just do not care about right now.

Jeffrey Lord of Newsmax says the longer Kamala decides to cower in fear, the shorter this honeymoon is going to last.

"People will have questions, and will wonder why she is not answering them, and why she is avoiding the press...at some point, that is going to come back to haunt her," he says.

The 2024 election cycle has been unusual to say the least. Kamala Harris was not even selected by the voters, she was just thrust into the ticket with no real say from the people. An un-democratic move from a party that kicks and screams about democracy constantly.

This has shades of 2008 again as well, when a young, inexperienced Barack Obama was on the ticket. He was at least rightfully placed on there. But still, the same parallels align. Loads of inexperience, and socialistic views.

But Kamala might only have to the Democrat National Convention to ride this wave.

"People want to know...why is there inflation, why is there this and that...people are going to want answers to these questions," he says. "Does she have an advantage right now? Yes. Will it last forever? I am skeptical."

Not only is Kamala set to tote the old Obama ways, but she will continue carrying on the Biden agenda. You know, the one that has seen the affordability sink into oblivion.

Donald Trump has plenty of ammunition to take on the Harris campaign. The border might be the biggest. But Lord says he needs to put the pressure on her for her ridiculous ideology.

"She once called socialism 'neighborly,'...she and [Tim Walz] are essentially Marxists...Trump needs to call them out on it, especially [Walz], who has a record on all this stuff," he says.

Only time will tell if the Kamala honeymoon is going to last. But right now, it is looking like it could be coming to a swift end, and soon.
