School Choice Is In The Majority, So Why Hasn't It Happened In Texas?

According to new University of Houston polling, most Texans support school choice, including minorities. The biggest opposition to school choice comes from white Democrats. So, how has such a small segment of voters stopped school choice?

Mandy Drogin with Next Generation Texas told KTRH, "They coerce our legislators; they will, you know, publicly shame them, and at home. They use a lot of nefarious tactics."

Drogin says parents deserve to get better results for all the money we spend on education, and right now, the results are abysmal. She said, "$16,792 per child is what we're spending. We still have 50% of kids who cannot read. It's unacceptable."

Drogin says that we need to recognize that there are fundamental problems with our public schools and start addressing them rather than just covering them up.
