CenterPoint Withdraws Rate Hike Request

After being grilled by state officials in Austin, CenterPoint Energy has announced plans to withdraw their request with the Public Utilities Commission to raise their rates. The company says the decision was centered around a desire to focus on improving resiliency.

CenterPoint CEO and President Jason Wells said, “We believe any delay or distraction from this mission is unacceptable. Wells also said that CenterPoint is working to improve communications and emergency coordination.
