Floating Border Barriers Can Stay In The Rio Grande

Yesterday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the buoys placed in the Rio Grande by Texas to serve as a border barrier could stay floating. A federal judge had previously ordered that the buoys be moved to the bank of the river.

Greg Abbott took to Twitter to celebrate the win, saying that the buoys will stay in the water.

The Fifth Circuit says that the previous judges "clearly erred" when they claimed that the United States would likely prove later that the buoys were in a navigable stretch of the river. They also said that, "We cannot square the district court's findings and conclusions with over a century's worth of precedent."
