There are still 900,000 customers without power as of Friday morning, four days after Hurricane Beryl. But, to listen to CenterPoint officials talk about it, they have done nothing wrong.
"We're proud of our preparation. We're proud of our response, Senior Vice President Darin Carroll told Houston's Morning News. Their response has led to calls for investigation from Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, and accountability from Houston Mayor John Whitmire.
"We've got nothing to hide. We'll be happy to have those conversations and share anything that they want to know."
There has also been talk of CenterPoint workers not conducting repairs because of contract that have not been completed.
"Not true. We pay all of those folks, and have contracts in place well before we need them," Carroll said.
Even though Carroll says their response was good, he admitted customers are not happy.
"We understand the frustration; those folks most impacted by this. We own the fact that our communications can be better," Carroll stated.
