Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo is often quick to say "not to get political", but it appears she once again did just that, by denying offers of help from state Republican leaders ahead of Hurricane Beryl.
Acting Governor, and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick shared with the media the stunning exchange he's had with the Harris County Judge.
"On Saturday, we reached out to Lina Hidalgo and asked her if she needed anything, and she texted back No" Patrick said, "Sunday we asked her if she needed anything, she didn't answer. Monday we asked her if she needed anything, and she said "we're good." Tuesday we asked, and she said "we're good."
Just another example of why there are so many issues, problems, and corruption in Harris County. Mayor Whitmire is trying to clean it up, but clearly there is a lot that still needs to be done.
"We have not had one request from the County Judge of Harris County, so I guess all of her citizen's are fine in the unincorporated areas" added Patrick, "Because she doesn't need anything. But if she did, we're there to fulfill it."
