Foreign Student Fakes Fathers Death To Get Scholarship

Concerns are being raised about our immigration system and education system after a student from India was able to forge documents to get a scholarship to a college in Pennsylvania. He faked his father's death, as well as high school test scores.

Andrew Arthur with the Center for Immigration Studies told KTRH, "This case underscores a lot of vulnerabilities that came to light after 9/11, and they continue to plague the visa system." He pointed out that the 9/11 terrorists also used student visas to enter the country and attend flight school.

Arthur also warned that if this happened once, it could very well happen again. He said, "There really isn't anybody who is seriously looking at the presence and the activities of more than a million people who are here on non-immigrant status."

Arthur says these vulnerabilities need to be addressed before they're exploited for a more nefarious purpose than just getting into a college.
