The top illegal criminal alien on Gov. Greg Abbott's most wanted list in Texas has been taken into custody.
Special agents with the Department of Public Safety's Criminal Investigations Division arrested Victor Hugo Chox Gonzalez, 38, Friday in Fort Worth. He was booked in the Tarrant County jail.
Gonzalez was wanted for multiple crimes including aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecent sexual contact with a minor, and failing to identify as a fugitive. These crimes landed him as the number one most wanted fugitive on Abbott’s list.
In a press release from DPS, they described Chox Gonzalez as a "criminal illegal immigrant from Mexico with ties to Tarrant County, including the cities of Pantego and Arlington.”
Gonzalez has a long line of criminal history dating back to 2016 when he was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 and assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
