CenterPoint continues restoration efforts - < 400,000+ still without power

CenterPoint Energy Spokesperson Michelle Hundley tells KTRH that more than 400,000 customers in the Houston area are still without power following the severe storms that hit the area Thursday night. She added that the internet Outage Tracker for the Houston area system has been updated and is providing near real-time information on power service restoration and continuing outages.

CenterPoint expects that most customers will have their power restored by the end of the day Wednesday, May 22nd. More that 2,200 workers from neighboring utilities have arrived in Houston and are working alongside CenterPoint employees to restore service. These Mutual Aid workers have come from utilities like City of Public Service in San Antonio, Texas New Mexico Power and others.
