Rain, Flooding Return to Areas North of Houston on Sunday

Areas to the north of Houston that have been dealing with floods this week are bracing for more storms and flooding Sunday.

"We know we are going to be facing rain. We are going to be back at it," Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough told KTRH. And then added one bit of good news.

"So far we have had no loss of life, and the river is going down,: he stated.

His counterpart in Harris County, Judge Lina Hidalgo, delivered similar good news Saturday afternoon.

"I want to thank the residents for listening to the advice, and taking appropriate action. To my understanding there have been no confirmed deaths related to the incident," Hidalgo said.

But she, like Keough, added that the area isn't out of the woods yet.

"I want to be very clear; the level of uncertainty remains," Hidalgo stated.

The National Weather Service extended a Flood Watch for Southeast Texas through Sunday evening. There is the potential for another 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, with isolated areas getting higher amounts.

Keep it tuned to KTRH for the latest on the storms.
