The Democrat party has been riding a gradual decline into insanity for the last two to three decades. This coming from someone who actually used to be more Democrat in ideology. That is until the party cratered and turned into something that is anti-American. It began with Barack Obama in the Oval Office, when he became racially divisive. The party has carried that torch into the depth of darkness, as they try turning America into their own Soviet Union.
For all their social justice nonsense, as bad as they have gotten, there are factions of the side that have slid into further madness. Believe it or not, there is an even more progressive, woke version of the Left. One that we were unaware of until the most recent pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses. We will dub them 'The New Left.'
They are just as crazy as you might think, but worse. They believe Hamas is good for the world, that swastikas are 'woke,' and that American is the source of all problems in the world. Not considering, somehow, that the Middle East has been at war for multiple centuries.
Journalist Ryan Zickgraf says this has really ramped up in the last couple of months and stems back to 2020.
"Back then you had the George Floyd protests, and that animated the Left...but the last few years, it has gone away...I think the Left was looking for something to pour their energy into...but it is interesting how they did not care much about Ukraine or Russia...it is this particular battle," he says.
For some inexplicable reason, these students think they are participating in a Vietnam War protestor are making some massive stand. In reality, that is just not the case. This is not some American war that is being fought, this is not something American can fully stop. Again, this has gone on for hundreds of years in the region. Expecting it to stop all because a group of 22-year-olds camp out on a school lawn is utterly foolish.
While it is a bit of a silly look; these kids have the right to go scream their little hearts out. But they are walking a fine line between freedom of speech and extremism.
"There is an extreme section of these kids that are taking things way too far," he says. "You can make a case Israel has gone a bit far...but you can do so without wearing Hamas garments and screaming for death to America."
Funny how you do not see this kind of thing happen at more Conservative schools, like Texas A&M, or in more conservative cities. It is all focused on these large, liberal, and self-proclaimed elite cities and elite schools.
While the protests are in the news, and it is being heard of, that does not mean it is making an impact. For regular Americans, that is exactly the case.
"I saw a poll recently that this is the 12th most cause that voters care about...behind inflation and jobs," he says. "But in these cities, it is consuming them...so why do so many there care so much? It just kind of shows where we are today."
Indeed, the same people protesting are the same elites that try to tell Texas how to handle the border, without ever having experienced issues themselves. They stay sheltered, ignorant, and protected by safe bubbles built by social media, and the media itself.
Maybe this whole thing dies down within the next week or so. But until then, the new Left is on full display. Get a glimpse of the crazies while you can.
