ERCOT has reportedly taken steps to avoid a power grid emergency next week.
The state’s grid operator has asked power generators to stop previously scheduled maintenance and come back online early ahead of Tuesday and Wednesday, when temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s.
Power generators typically schedule maintenance for March and April, when temperatures are moderate.
ERCOT had put out a public notice earlier that the higher temperatures combined with the maintenance work could possibly put strain on the grid.
