The on-going invasion at our Southern border by illegal immigrants, continues to cost U.S. taxpayers billions. And now you can add more to the list for the cost of education.
According to a new study, Americans are going to be on the hook for at least $2 billion a year to educate illegals. Most experts that number is going to be much higher.
"We have estimated that the cost of public education for all of the migrants who have come over is going to cost in the hundreds of billions of dollars" said Jessica Vaughan, policy director with the Center For Immigration Studies.
It's a huge problem, that is only going to get worse.
"All over Texas and a lot of other states, we're seeing modular classrooms being set up desperately" Vaughan told KTRH, "Because the school systems of course have no warning, they just arrive."
That's why when you add up all of the costs, it really is going to be in the hundred of billions, for U.S. taxpayers.
"We have the short term costs of transporting and sheltering, and giving immediate assistance to the migrants" noted Vaughan, "But the longer term costs are really what people should be focused on, the largest of which is public schooling."
Most cities, including the blue 'sanctuary' cities have requested unsuccessfully, financial assistance from the Biden administration, even though this is the self-inflicted, Biden-border crisis.
