Come Monday, no excuses.
The Houston Police Department is reviewing more than three-thousand sexual assault cases whose investigations were previously suspended.
A total of more than 200-thousand criminal cases were suspended because of a lack of police personnel.
HPD Chief Troy Finner says the suspension code should never have been used and won't be used again.
Finner held a news conference about the issue last week, a day after Mayor John Whitmire ordered an independent review of Finner and the department's handling of the suspended cases.
