Houston Traffic Delays Have a Big Price Tag

Nine of the worst trucking bottlenecks are in America are right here in Houston, they're having an effect on our economy.

The traffic we're famous for costs the freight industry an estimated $95 billion every year.

John Esparza of the Texas Trucking Association told KTRH that this cost ultimately gets passed down to the consumer. He said, "Congestion is a factor we all pay for, regardless of where it is."

Esparza says that a major part of the problem is that Houston's infrastructure has not been keeping up with our industrial growth. He says that we can make all the announcements we want about new projects, but until they get the funding they need and pass all the government's red tape, announcements are all they'll ever be.
