Ai is getting more advanced every day, and could effect democracy across the world this year. Half the worlds population is set to have elections in 2024, and china has already attempted to use generated content to effect Taiwan's elections.
Political consultant Luke Macias told KTRH that, "As AI continues to advance in it's abilities, and its accuracy, or inaccuracy for that matter...it will become a larger threat." He says it could soon be used to create distrust between voters and their candidates.
So what's the solution? Macias says voters should attend candidate forums, rather than trusting what they see and hear online, and also look for trustworthy local and state level outlets. Macias warns that the government might think the solution is more top down control of free speech.
