Gen Z ers in the workforce are rising fast, as Boomers ride off into retirement. In 2024, the numbers of Gen Zs are expected to surpass the number of Boomers. According to a recent study by Glassdoor Economics Research, these lines converge in the next year.
While Gen X and Millennials still make up the largest portions of the workforce, the changing of the guard between the Gen Zs and the Boomers will have myriad implications for the workplace.
These implications for the workplace include - how and where work gets done (in person versus remote or hybrid work).
Daniel Zhao, Lead Economist for Glassdoor Economics Research says the he thinks "the kids will be alright".
