Year End Bonus payments - will they help employers keep employees?

Most employees will receive a year end bonus - will it help keep them in their jobs? Dr. Andre Martin, Culture Strategist with Joyful isn't so sure.

Dr. Martin, the author of Wrong Fit, Right Fit thinks that compensation is not the most valued aspect of employment - particularly with younger employees. In fact, he says that there is almost no correlation between compensation and overall job satisfaction.

Martin thinks that year end bonuses should be de-emphasized and that year-round retention strategies will be more effective in attracting and retaining the best and most valued employees. Having a single point in time to recognize your employees' contributions is not as effective as giving them continuing feedback and recognition.
