Houston lawyer arrested for bringing narcotics to Harris County jail

A 77 year old Houston lawyer arrested and accused of being a 'major supplier' of narcotics to inmates at the Harris County jail. Ronald Lewis is accused of bringing sheets of paper laced with ecstasy and synthetic marijuana during in-person visits.

The Sheriff's Office says that this investigation began a few months ago after two overdose deaths.

Lewis might just be the tip of this iceberg.

"We do have other investigations pending that involve other attorneys...separately," says Lieutenant Jay Wheeler.

He faces two charges so far of Bringing a Prohibited Substance to a Correctional Facility. They did not disclose if this might be the related the 18 total jail deaths there this year.

Their investigation is ongoing.
