There is a boil water advisory in Tomball.
City officials say a water main line experienced a rupture on S. Cherry Street near Cherrywood Estates around 3 Saturday morning.
Officials say the city water pressure system has dropped significantly. The advisory is expected to be in effect for 24 hours. Residents are advised to check the city's Facebook page for updates.
The city recommends:
- To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, brushing teeth, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use.
- The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
- In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
