It's Time To Make The Call And Ban Smartphones In Classrooms

With all of the talk right now about education here in Texas, there's another key choice that needs to be made in classrooms across the country. It's time to make the call to ban smartphones.

"Absolutely everything changed in the classroom (with smartphones)" said author Jeremy S. Adams, a former teacher of the year from California, "If you're not a teacher it is absolutely impossible to really describe just how disruptive it has become."

Other countries like France, Italy, and now England have banned smartphones in their classrooms, and it's time for the U.S. to do the same. Especially considering how much we have declined as a nation in education.

"There's a reason why when cellphone usage goes up, GPA's go down" Adams told KTRH, "There's a reason why banning phones leads to higher test scores, and that's because we've actually got their attention and their focus once again. And we've got to get it back, and it's up to the adults."

Jeremy S. Adams has also written a new book, titled: 'Hollowed Out: A Warning About America's Next Generation'.
