This isn't a new thing; Government spending causes inflation

Inflation is caused by government increases in the money supply - and it becomes a "Hidden Tax" on citizens

David Lanza said on American Thinker dot com that government increases in money supply and excess federal spending are the cause of inflation. Nothing new here. Noble Prize winning Economist Milton Friedman identified these issue are the cause of inflation - as far back as the 1970s. He called inflation a "hidden tax". Friedman also said that increasing spending by the government without increasing taxes is like trying to get "something for nothing". Sounds like the same old song and dance today.
