The mother of a child killed in the Uvalde, Texas school shooting last year is running for mayor.
Kimberly Mata-Rubio is expected to launch her campaign today for the special election this November.
Mata-Rubio's ten-year-old daughter was one of 21 people who died when a gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School.
She is looking to replace Mayor Don McLaughlin, who is stepping down to run for the Texas Legislature.
