Child injured in road rage shooting; homeowner shoots home invader

Violent crime didn't take a break for the weekend.

HPD says a 7-year old girl was shot and now in stable condition after what they say was a road rage incident in southeast Houston. This happened last night at about 7 o'clock. According to witnesses, the shooter, who has not been caught, fired into the car with the little girl because the driver didn't react quickly enough to a signal change.

That was hardly the only violent crime to take place in the Houston area this weekend.

Officials with Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office said a deputy who was assaulted by a suspect inside Splashtown is out of the hospital.

According to Constable Mark Herman, deputies received reports of a man who allegedly brought a gun inside Hurricane Harbor Splashtown on Saturday afternoon.

At some point, when deputies arrived at the water park, they attempted to arrest the suspect when he assaulted one of the deputies.

Elsewhere, a homeowner in Richmond shot a home invader.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s office said there were no injuries reported to the homeowners.
