As we get set to celebrate America's #247th birthday, and despite Joe Biden's promise of unity, our nation is more divided than ever.
"We're angry, and the vitriol and the extreme partisanship is taking it's toll" said former U.S. congressman Mike Rogers, "There's a whole line of people sticking their hand out saying, somebody owes me a check for going to college. My argument is, maybe you ought to do a little something for that, and that's what really spurred the writing of that piece.

It's a call for national service.
"Listen, I'm not pollyanish, I don't think there's going to be a big kumbaya moment" Rogers told KTRH, "But I do believe good leadership makes a difference. I do believe it can happen, we have massive problems that we have to fix in the United States.
His hope is that a nationwide service effort, will restore faith in our nation, and build a united future.
