POLL QUESTION: Why are you staying away from Downtown Houston?

Downtown areas across the country are dying, and Houston is no exception.

This is especially true on weekends, where the only people you see outside of an Astros game at Minute Maid Park are the homeless. Charles Blain with Urban Reform says crime is a big reason why.

"The one thing you do hear from a lot of folks around Houston when it comes to crime is that they feel least safe downtown," Blain said.

There is an effort to bring the crowds back downtown, but it hasn't panned out as of now.

"You're starting to see different companies trying to incentivize people to comeback downtown. I just don't think people want that anymore," Blain explained.

Blain says that's also because people got a taste of what life is like working from home.
