We've stopped hearing about the Biden-border crisis since Title 42 ended, but Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed a six-bill border security package. Part of it includes a 1,000 foot inflatable border barrier that will be deployed in the water near Eagle Pass.
"It looked like they stole the props off of ABC's 'Wipeout' said reporter Hayden Sparks with The Texan, "And it does look like that at first blush, but DPS chief, Colonel Steve McCraw did say that they have tested it and they are hoping that it can keep people from swimming across."
The newly signed border security package should help, but Governor Abbott was not able to pen a pair of his priorities.
"The invasion declaration and the state border protection force, those two things did not happen" Sparks told KTRH, "It's possible he'll put that on a special session call, but he did not deliver all of the results that the Republican party of Texas had hoped for."
They did get some more money. The Texas legislature did approve an additional $5 billion dollars in spending, for border security.
