Only Half Of America's Murders Are Getting Solved, Lowest Rate In 40 Years

Some new crime numbers courtesy of the FBI, show that just half of America's murders are getting solved. That 'homicide clearance' rate is now at it's lowest level in 40 years.

"You've got these violent predators, that are being re-released back out on the street because of these liberal, progressive policies" said Gregory Fremin, retired Houston Police Captain, who is now an instructor at Sam Houston State University, "And they're reoffending, so they're killing again. And there's a certain dangerousness and threat level of retaliation amongst a lot of witnesses. You've got people that are truly terrified to come forward."

Those homicide clearance numbers are better in Houston, even though the murder and crime numbers are really, really bad.

"Houston homicide rates have spiked a little bit, but our clearance rate in Houston is much higher than the national average" Fremin told KTRH, "And I can speak on authority on this, I know a lot of the men in women that are in the homicide division. They are some of the best at what they do, in the nation."

Unfortunately, murders across the U.S. have doubled over the last decade, with America on the verge of becoming the first developed nation, where the majority of murders go unsolved.
