Goldfish have probably never thought to measure the human capacity for maintaining focus on a thought or activity for a prolonged period, but we seem to have a fascination with how long the fish pay attention.

Fish don't have facebook and can't stream online so they are apparently faring better than we.

A recent study appears to have found average human attention spans have fallen from 12 seconds in 2000 to eight seconds today.

Have we lost you yet?

Goldfish are said to have a nine-second attention span. But they can't follow a plot or understand character development, so our species does have some advantages.
