Beto O'Rourke was supposed to be the Democrats best shot to unseat Texas Governor Greg Abbott, but it wasn't even close.
Abbott cruised to a double digit win in yesterday's election, giving him a third term in office.
"I ran this campaign for Texans to have safer streets; for homeowners who are burdened with skyrocketing property taxes, and for our oil field workers who begged for me to protect their jobs," Abbott said.
As for O'Rourke, this is his third high profile election loss. He lost to Ted Cruz in 2018, dropped out of the Presidential race before the 2020 primaries, and now to Abbott.
Elsewhere, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick easily won his third term, as did Attorney General Ken Paxton.
