With less than a week to go now until election day, early voting is down thus far in Texas, and that really bodes well for Republicans.
In addition to that, a new UH poll found the GOP is leading handily in almost every race across the state. Reporter Brad Johnson put together a Texas midterm Top 10 list.
"At the top of the ticket is the governor's race" Johnson said, "That's the tone setter for everything else below it. The other most notable statewide race in my opinion is, the Attorney General's race, it has consistently been the closest."
The poll found that Governor Greg Abbott has increased his lead over Beto, with AG Ken Paxton still holding a double digit lead over Rochelle Garza. And then there's what the GOP hopes to be, a south Texas tri-fecta!
"Something I think everyone should be watching on election night, are these 3 congressional races in South Texas" Johnson told KTRH, "You have Monica de la Cruz, Cassy Garcia, and Mayra Flores and Vicente Gonzalez both running for the same seat."
Here in Houston, all eyes are on Alexandra del Moral Mealer who is looking to oust lockdown Lina Hidalgo. And in Tarrant County, Republican Tim O'Hare is looking to push past Deborah Peoples, in the County Judge race.
