If you get around from town to town with a cool head and have a fondness for Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahamas, Key Largo, or Montego, baby why don’t we go see the Beach Boys in concert tonight?
Rumors are it could be fun, fun, fun.
81-year-old Mike Love is the only original appearing at the Smart Financial Center with tonight’s “Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer,” 80-year-old Bruce Johnston having started with the band as a Brian Wilson fill-in in 1965 and also in the line-up. He wrote the song called “I Write the Songs” that put 79-year-old Barry Manilow on the map . Keeping the harmonies alive are musical director Scott Totten, Brian Eichenberger, Christian Love, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, Keith Hubacher and Randy Leago.
Surfers and those who dream of being a surfer have loved this stuff enough to keep the aging artists still touring. No one guessing how long they will tour but this could be a rare opportunity.
If you’re a Beach Boys fan, you’ll know the lyrics to every song, and probably love every minute of it singing along.
The doors open at 6:30. The show starts at 7:30.
The vibrations will be excellent.
