Democrats Are Trying To Form A Left-Wing Media Cartel

Not content with the current 'Big Tech' censorship, the Democrats are pushing a bill that would further silence conservatives. The 'Journalism Competition and Preservation Act' (JCPA) is currently making the rounds in Washington, and the objective is clear.

"You could have a scenario where you have the media cartel colluding with big tech to target conservatives more aggressively on-line" said Tom Hebert, investigative reporter with Americans For Tax Reform, "They don't care that we get kicked off of platforms, they don't care that we're targeted by Silicon Valley, all they care about is expanding government control."

On the surface, the bill that is being led by D Sen. Amy Klobuchar, is presented in a way that seems good. The mainstream media wants to make an arrangement for big tech to compensate them for using their content. The only problem is, it would forge a partnership that could ultimately lead to collusion.

Thankfully, Texas Senator Ted Cruz stepped in and tried to amend the bill.

"I want to give a huge shout-out to Senator Ted Cruz" Hebert told KTRH, "The amendment is great, it should have unanimously passed, it does make explicit what is implicit in the bill, and Senator Amy Klobuchar pulled the plug on her own bill because she thought conservatives were going to get a fair shake. The hair should stand on the backs of the necks of every conservative seeing that."

Basically, Senator Cruz said, the anti-trust exemption would go away if the media gets into 'content moderation' or 'misinformation'. When the truth was exposed, Sen. Klobuchar scratched the bill, and is now working on another version that she plans to introduce later this week.

"I don't think, she thinks, that any conservative speech on-line is a good thing" noted Hebert, "Conservatives know that 'misinformation' means conservative speech, and she's hashing out a secret last minute deal with a couple of Democrats in order to add content moderation language to the bill."
