Construction is underway on a new base of operations in Houston for manned spaceflight and low Earth orbit missions.
Axiom Space had a groundbreaking on Wednesday for its new headquarters at Ellington Field.
The aerospace company will use the new facility to train private astronauts and begin production of Axiom Station, replacing the International Space Station.
The orbiting platform will be the world's first free-flying private space station internationally available for research, manufacturing, and commerce in low Earth orbit.
On April 8 Axiom launched a crew aboard a Space X Dragon to the Space Station.
