More sanctions against Russia sound really good. The only problem is, not every country that agrees with the U.S. goes along with them. And then there's the other problem. The sanctions hurt -us- here in the U.S., especially here in Texas.
"The sanctions have focused on energy" said political writer John F. Di Leo, "And what it has done is it has removed Russia, and lots of companies in Russia that pay a lot for a lot of good expensive stuff, from the potential markets for American energy companies."
What does that mean exactly? Simply put, the Texas oil and gas industry is now cut off from doing any business whatsoever with Russia.
"Especially the oil drilling, petroleum, and natural gas companies" Di Leo told KTRH, "If you're involved in pipeline construction, drilling, and mining, these kinds of industries are now largely banned from a lot of transactions in Russia."
Another way to put it, which Di Leo did for American Thinker, these sanctions are double edged sword.
"What we're doing is we're supporting China, more than the supporting the innocent people of Ukraine" Di Leo said, "Is it going to help them to hurt the American economy and bolster the Chinese economy? I don't think so."
