We have company in town. About 400,000 people are attending the Lone Star Rally on Galveston this weekend, one of the biggest motorcycle rallies in the nation.
Festivities wrap up tomorrow and they'll be heading home, so be especially alert for motorcyclists on the roadways throughout Southeast Texas and make sure everyone gets home safely.
The island is packed with concerts and exhibits, a welcome sight, especially for local businesses, after last year's rally was cancelled due to Covid.
There are road closures on the Strand and Seawall Blvd.
Galveston's trolley is back, having returned in September, and offers a means of getting from here to there for a buck. However, everyone is having the same thought, so expect delays there too.
Many are camping overnight at Galveston State Park.
This weekend, welcome to Hog Heaven!
