Biden Blame: The U.S. Supply Chain Chaos

Houston has a problem, and so does the rest of the U.S.

The supply chain issues continue, causing increasing inflation, and now shortages on certain goods and items.

The White House says it is trying to solve the problem, but many believe that the Biden administration is actually to blame.

"The White House has been a real problem here, and they're going to continue to be a problem for awhile" said policy expert Merrill Matthews, "Because they've expanded the welfare state."

That would include expanding the SNAP benefits, which will keep even more people home and not working. Plus, as Matthews told KTRH, "Wait, Congress is looking to pass $3.5 trillion that is going to flood the market with money for various kinds of programs. Maybe I'll hold out a little longer and see if that passes, and if it does maybe I won't have to go back to work."

In the meantime, the supply chain issue is now in crisis mode. Port delays are up 43% from over last year, plus there are train and truck shortages, topped off by the labor shortages at many stores.

"Getting fresh fruit and vegetables in to the Houston port has been an issue" said Grocery consultant for the Texas Retailers Association Gary Huddleston, "When you say supply chain, that's certainly what it is."

Just in time for the holidays. Experts say to get your shopping done early.
