State officials are awarding a contract to oversee construction of a border barrier to a joint venture between an engineering firm and a design firm.
The Texas Facilities Commission voted this week to approve the 11-million-dollar contract for Michael Baker International and Huitt-Zollars.
Pennsylvania-based Michael Baker has office in several Texas cities and has helped build more than 500-miles of border wall.
Dallas-based Huitt-Zollars has designed Border Patrol stations in Texas and California.
