Area Umpire Arrested at Ball Park

A youth baseball umpire who was on his way to call a game in Conroe Sunday was stopped by police for an expired car registration. He got out of his car and ran from police to the Scrap Yards Sports Complex where he was going to call the game. There a combination of police and parents tackled him.

KPRC TV spoke with one of the parents: "I guess I figured this wasn't a good thing going on especially with a lot of kids here. So I tried to stop what was going on and let the police handle it from there."

When police arrested him on evading arrest, they found 5 grams of meth in his possession. When he was booked into jail, they discovered he was wanted on warrants from Harris County.
