Home surveillance video captured the moment 4-year-old Cash Gernon was snatched from his bed in Dallas over the weekend.
Police say Darriynn Brown, 18, is charged in the kidnapping and brutal stabbing the child.
Gernon was asleep near his twin brother when he was kidnapped early Saturday morning.
Police say Brown, dressed in a hoodie and wearing a backpack, is seen in the video whisking the child out of the room.
A jogger later found Gernon's body with multiple wounds, lying in a pool of blood on a street about a half-mile from his home.
Brown was seen in a second video, returning to the boys' room about two hours after his initial entry, but leaves without harming the second child.
Brown, jailed with bail set at $1.5 million, has not explained why he allegedly took the boy. He had reportedly been seen in the neighborhood in the days leading up to the crime.
