A ne w monument at Space Center Houston honors the crew of Apollo 13 and the flight controllers in Mission Control at NASA's Johnson Space Center who brought them home safely.
The seven-foot-tall bronze triple statue depict astronauts Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise as they stepped down from the recovery helicopter onto the USS Iwo Jima.
The monument is part of Space Center Houston's exhibit "Apollo 13: Failure is not an option," and stands next to a Saturn Five rocket.
