Bellaire High School to honor nine valedictorians today

Bellaire High School’s class of 2021 will graduate nine valedictorians in June, all with perfect 5.0 GPAs.

Alkiviades Boukas, Daniel Chen, Evie Tsen-Ying Kao, Angela Ling, Miles Mackenzie, Wenson Tsiah-Hao Tang, Christopher Zhou, and twin sisters Annie and Shirley Zhu, will join the class salutatorians today at Delmar Stadium for the school's annual Scholars Recognition Ceremony.

Seven of the students have already picked their colleges - Boukas, Kao and Mackenzie will attend the University of Texas; Chen and Tang will go to Carnegie Mellon University; Zhou has selected Rice University; and Annie Zhu will attend Stanford. Her sister, Shirley, and Ling are still undecided.

Boukas and Mackenzie plan to major in physics, Chen will focus on information systems, Kao will take up business and finance, Tang will major in electrical and computer engineering while Ling has yet to pick between business and biology

The Zhu twins have received national attention for cofounding Fresh Hub, an organization that redistributes unsold food to Houston families in need. Annie plans to major in symbolic systems while Shirley will take up computer science.
