If you're from Texas, you remember the importance of these men to Texas History. They were integral parts of the Battle at the Alamo. They, in fact, are the matter from which legends are made.
On this day in 1836, (3-6-1836), the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo 3 times. Many Texian occupiers were slain by the Mexican cavalry as they attempted to escape. Historians think between 5 and 7 could have surrendered, and were executed quickly.
The Alamo has been the subject of numerous non-fiction works. Documentaries. Non-Fiction Books. Movies. Re-makes of Movies. Television Shows. Comic Books! Some date back to as early as 1943!
