The California variant of the coronavirus is now in Harris County.
Harris County Public Health has confirmed three cases of the California variant in the county. Officials say the three patients involved are no longer contagious or in quarantine.
Infectious disease specialist Dr. Linda Yancey says a small study indicates the variant is deadlier than other variants.
Vaccine manufacturers are conducting tests to determine whether their vaccines protect against it.
