The White House abruptly cut the video feed to a virtual event Wednesday after President Joe Biden suggested he would take questions from reporters.
Biden had been speaking remotely to members of the House Democratic caucus.
The president has been facing growing criticism for not holding a formal press conference in the six weeks since taking office.
