Galveston City Council cancelled the 2021 celebration a month ago, but the fun has not been cancelled.
Mardi Gras krewes in Galveston are following the lead of New Orleans krewes and instead of creating parade floats, the krewes are decorating houses as floats.
Participating homes will be dressed up from February 5th through the 16th for the first-ever Krewe of Saints House Floats Tour.
Safely distanced and masked, on Saturday, February 13th, homeowners, their friends and neighbors will toss beads to the passersby by from 5 to 7 in the evening.
