Today is the 19th anniversary of 9/11, but COVID-19 and politics is impacting how we remember this year.
The National September 11 the Memorial and Museum said they would not read the names live this year because of COVID. Republican strategist Vlad Davidiuk blames COVID politics
"It kind of boggles the mind. 9/11 does not belong to New York City; it belongs to America," Davidiuk said.
But Frank Siller with Tunnels to Towers stepped up to the plate. That organization is doing the ceremony later this morning.
"I wish that we didn't have to do it. I know a lot of the families were upset at first," Siller told Fox and Friends last month. He added the safety precautions for COVID-19 will be put in place.
Other ceremonies today include a tribute at the National Law Enforcement Memorial & Museum. Governor Greg Abbott has called for a moment of silence at 7:46 this morning.
